Who we are
Lello is a bedtime story app for children, published by Lineage Technologies, Opus Tower, Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (DET Dubai Trader License no. 1639817). Questions: info@lineagehq.co.
Lello is used by children with a parent or guardian. Parents set it up, and the parents' area is protected.
What stays on the device
- Your child's first name, story friend, reading history, favourites and settings are stored only on the phone or tablet. We have no accounts and no database of children.
- The Android app works fully offline and sends nothing to us or anyone else.
- Deleting the app, or using "Erase everything" in the grown-ups area, removes this data.
When something leaves the device (iPhone app)
- Narration: when a story is read aloud with Lello's narrator voice, the story text is sent through our server to a third-party voice service provider to create the audio. If that is unavailable, the phone's built-in voice is used instead.
- Talking to the story friend: if your child chats with their story friend, the messages and your child's first name are sent through our server to a third-party AI service provider to write a reply.
- Our server only passes these requests on. It does not keep the text or build a profile of your child. The providers process the text only to return the audio or the reply.
What we don't do
- No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and no selling or sharing of data for marketing.
- No analytics that identify a child.
Purchases
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your name, email or payment details.
Website waiting list
If you join the waiting list on this website, we keep your email address to tell you when Lello launches. Ask us at any time to remove it.
Children
Lello is designed for children under a parent's supervision. We do not collect personal information from children beyond what is described above, and nothing about your child is stored on our servers. A parent can ask us anything about their child's use of Lello at info@lineagehq.co.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
